Unbridled Beauty

I have loved horses since the first time I saw one, which, my parents told me, was when I was too little to remember. I work with horses now; breeding, training, delivering and imprinting foals, and riding. I love watching them play more than anything else (except maybe a good trail ride, just me and whoever I'm riding). I love to watch them run, tails up, bucking and twisting, squealing with joy, playing. I drew this horse without any trace of human touch, as if he just came to a sliding stop in front of me and is about to again dart away. I drew him in black and white, which for some reason seems to give images more soul than if drawn with color, as you have to look more deeply in order for them to come to life. Or you have to draw more deeply. He wasn't anyone I knew, just an image of a horse I thought expressed the fullness of equine beauty.
